SV-99 is a special purpose sniper rifle, chambered for 5.6 mm rimfire cartridge. It is used by special forces units, in sniper shooting exercises and for training and target practice at a range of up to 100 meters.

It is based on the world-famous "Biathlon-7-2" rifle and has the same fast toggle-locking, straight pull bolt action system with a very fast reload speed.

The rifle is fed from 5 or 10 round plastic detachable box magazines and uses 5.6 mm rimfire cartridges (.22LR).

The rifle is equipped with a safety mechanism and sound suppressor. SV-99 has a dovetail mount on the receiver which can accept quick-detachable scope mounts.

The rifle features original ambidextrous stock, comfortable for both right and left handers and detachable buttstock, which has an adjustable length, buttplate position and a cheek rest height.

Sling swivels allow mounting the sling on either right or left side of the rifle.

Forend features a mount for quick-detachable folding bipods, buttstock has an adjustable monopod, designed to provide a stable position during the long-term target observation.

The monopod can be folded inside the buttstock in carrying position.
